ST. GEORGE – Dylan Redwine, 13, who disappeared from his father’s house in Bayfield, Colo., Nov. 19, is still missing and the investigation that began as a search and rescue is now characterized as a criminal investigation. New details and photos were released yesterday, to aid the public in spotting Dylan.
Dylan’s mother, Elaine, is La Verkin resident Jason Howard’s aunt, Dylan is Jason’s cousin. Jason and his wife, Jamie Howard, continue to urge the public’s attention and sharing of Dylan’s picture and story.
“We would just love to have him home. Someone knows where he is and all they have to do is call one of the numbers and leave a message. We have to keep posting and sharing,” Jamie said. “We will never give up hope that he will be found.”
Included with this story are new photos of Dylan, photos of the investigative efforts over the past ten days, a revised missing poster that readers may download and disseminate, and a brief recap of the investigation efforts since our first report on Nov. 24.
Updated description of Dylan’s apparel
Yesterday, video footage from the Durango-La Plata County Airport of Dylan arriving in Durango on Nov. 18 for a visit with his dad and from a Durango Wal-Mart that same day was used by authorities to release new photos and details on Dylan’s apparel on the day he disappeared:
• A blue baseball cap with a white front panel with the words “Duke Blue Devils” in blue on the white panel;
• A black, short-sleeved T-shirt with the large letters “DC” (possibly in grey) on the front within a thin light-colored square border around the DC logo;
• A pair of black basketball shorts that went below the knee with light-colored (possibly light blue and white) stripes on the sides; and
• Black-colored “Jordan” shoes with a white tongue and white shoelace area.
The Dylan Redwine Task Force
A Dylan Redwine Task Force was formed on Nov. 25 and is now comprised of five local, state and federal agencies, with about 50 investigators and officers; assistance is also being provided from other regional, state and federal agencies around the country in various capacities.
Recap of what the Task Force has done
The Task Force has canvassed local area residents, has employed air-scent canines in ground searches, canine search and rescue teams from New Mexico searching local lakes and waters and surrounding areas. These areas have been searched and searched again not because of any particular tip but to insure the searches have exhausted the areas.
“Investigators are no longer looking at the possibility of Dylan being a runaway, but we still view this as a search and not a recovery effort,” La Plata County Sheriff’s Office’s public Information Officer, Dan Bender, said on Nov. 28.
The home of Dylan’s father, Mark Redwine, has been searched and Mark has cooperated in the search and granted interview to the task force.
“The Sheriff’s Office is not calling Mark Redwine a suspect,” Bender said on Nov. 29.
As of Nov. 30, authorities ruled out the possibility that Dylan is a runaway due to the length of time involved, lack of cell phone activity, friends and family interviews, and the absence of any contact from him. They also ruled out the possibility that Dylan wandered off and was lost in the wilderness area around the lake.
“Task Force members are looking at this investigation as a criminal investigation,” Durango Police Department’s Lt. Ray Shupe said on Nov. 30.
Dylan’s parents have brought in friends and family from out-of-state for moral support and to assist with the continued search efforts for Dylan.

These images are HUGE, clear and unseen from those of relying on the local Durango Herald for complete news. They have done a wonderful job on the text. . May this heartache be resolved soon.
I am praying 4 Dylan , Please make him b found alive.
I am wondering since that news is reporting that Dylan was wearing the same clothes the day he disappeared as he was the day he got to his Fathers. Were the rest of the clothes he brought for his visit left at his Fathers the day he went missing , or did Dylan take everything he had brought for his visit with him when he left his Fathers. And also , did he leave a note to tell his Father where he was going ?
My residence is Erie PA. Abducted children have been spotted in Erie from time to time. Erie City Mission is a good place to look for Dylan. Erie City Mission , by this writer, will be checked out for Dylan’s whereabouts. I’ll keep you posted…
Did he befriend anyone on the airplane that anyone noticed, where he might have given out personal info about his situatipn or destination?
Has the passenger list on the plane he traveled on that day been checked for any pedophiles or suspicious names that dont match (eg. poss alias, etc.)? Was his personal belongings checked for tracking devices?
Shouldn’t. Dylan’s phone have a silent beeper on it? I’ve heard of people being tracked by their phone. I’m praying for that young fellow, And his family.did anyone follow him from the air port.?
Omg i think the father did somthing to him
As I was watching the Dr. Phil show the father talked in past tense about his son. That was very strange to me. The comment made about his clothes that he was wearing the day he arrived, where are they? I pray for his safe return. Please come forward if you know anything about Dylan…
